Dainese AWA Black Commuter Collection

The 2019 Bike collection by Dainese enters the world of urban commuting with AWA Black, a dedicated line evolved from the AWA “All Weather Activity” technological platform, launched by the Vicenza Italy-based brand in 2017.

AWA Black is the new Dainese Bike line designed to tackle the daily challenge of traffic whatever the weather conditions. It retains high technical content and combines it with a subtle look suitable for all types of use, not only bicycle-related. The AWA Black layering system makes use of innovative materials deriving from the racing world, which ensure very high-level performance in terms of waterproofing, insulation against atmospheric agents and comfort. Each piece is enriched with high-visibility details: reflective inserts for the brand-new Poncho and 3L Jacket, and brightly colored details for the other pieces in the collection. Safety and practicality are guaranteed by the numerous pockets, ideal for holding all the key accessories that today's commuter cannot do without.

Dainese Art Director Renato Montagner explains the new line: “We have designed a collection of garments that, though designed to offer maximum comfort while riding, have an essential formal language. The performance of the garment is ensured through the cut and materials, without becoming too evident. A collection with a functional design, where functionality is translated into aesthetics, designed for those who use the bicycle for low environmental impact mobility.”

AWA Black Shirt

Designed to be cool, fresh and dry on and off the saddle, the AWA BLACK SHIRT provides the user with a modern look and lightweight fabric. The perfect garment for everyday urban commuting.

AWA Black Fleece

Inspired by the trail-minded AWA Hybrid Jacket, the AWA Black Fleece features hybrid construction paired with urban style, becoming the perfect fleece for a technical everyday life. Thanks to its construction, this garment is really light and practical while the front nylon panel covers the rider from the wind. The fleece is finished with smart details like the practical front phone pocket, the big side hi-vis zipper and the pockets on the back, inspired by Eroica races.

AWA Black Pants / Shorts

Ergonomic knee construction, 4-way stretch fabric, denim look. The perfect recipe for an all day technical pant suitable for pedaling ​ or wearing at your desk. The pre-curved construction of the knee zone ensures the rider does not feel restricted while pedaling or moving, the practical features placed into the pockets allows the user to store phones, keys and EDC items without losing them. The AWA Black shorts bring all the same features to a tailored short for maximum comfort on the hottest days.

AWA Black 3L Jacket

No matter of weather conditions, getting wet isn’t an option with the AWA BLACK 3L. Conceived for city rides and most demanding commuters, this garment features a waterproof, lightweight and 4 way stretch membrane with fully taped internal seams providing the user with great water and wind resistance. The rollout hood is fully adjustable and designed ergonomically to be worn under a helmet without compromising the field of vision and the mobility of the head while the drop-down tail can be stored in the rear pocket when not in use. Hi-vis 3M tapes are perfectly integrated into the fabric, providing the user with high visibility when a light beam pass through the garment. The shell is finished with practical features like the fast phone pocket, the fastening inner system and the headphones hole.

AWA Black Poncho

Conceived to cope with most treacherous conditions, the AWA Black Poncho is perfect for urban mobility during rainy days. The poncho is made with lightweight waterproof fabric and the seams are fully sealed. The fully-adjustable hood is fitted to be worn over helmets. The poncho stuffs into its own pocket on the back for easy transport; ensuring it's always ready to deploy when the rain starts to fall.
